So my gaze turns to Authentic difficulty. The Sniper Elite difficulty has always been the most difficult, with no way to see exactly where your shot will go, no way to keep track of enemies, you had to do all that by yourself! A tooltip pops up that I can tag enemies with my binoculars. So I move on and get to the sneaky section bit. I'm disappointed that it's even there, I thought Sniper Elite difficulty was supposed to be hard and make you figure out how to take the shot yourself. I shrug it off and use it for a little bit to see how it plays out. Wait, what the fuck? Why is there a little diamond in my view? I sit through the intro, watch the cutscene, and make my way to the first shooting place. The "no saving" on Authentic was a little much, though, and so I went with Sniper Elite. Cadet and Marksman weren't for me, I liked some difficulty in my game. When I first booted into the game, I looked over the difficulties. Now, Sniper Elite 3 also has the Sniper Elite difficulty, but also the dreaded Authentic difficulty. That's great! Some people save super often, some not so much, there's some leeway in exactly how difficult you make it for yourself. The Sniper Elite difficulty is almost identical from the first game, only you have as many saves as you want.

The improved graphics make it easier to see enemies, and there's some more options in how to play. So along comes Sniper Elite 2 and makes a few minor changes, all of which are pretty good. The limited saves thing was especially tough, since it was never certain when it was a good idea to save. The Sniper Elite difficulty had wind, gravity, brutal enemies and limited saves. The original Sniper Elite, on the hardest difficulty, lived up to the difficulty's name. Let me start off by saying, that the whole Sniper Elite series are some amazing games.
